Hi Nicolas, very practical and useful points. I hated running but I took up trail running at 70 just for something to stretch my level of comfort. (Here https://go.wja.is/started-trail-running) I gradually came to love it, and I learnt all those lessons you mentioned along the way.
Now I run 5km daily, and I look forward to it each night as I go to sleep. Re timing - yes having a time that you like to run helps. In winter (now down here) try to run at about 2pm in the nice sun (since I work for myself that's doable). In summer I get up before dawn and run as soon as I can see well enough on the local trail. There are plenty of rocks and roots to trip on so I need a bit of light.
I should offer that one of the best books I read is Clair Kowolchik's Running for Women - I learnt a lot from that, here https://go.wja.is/medium-claire-kowalchik-running-women
Thanks for the tips
