We did.

Well, baby boomers like me raised neurotic children who raised a generation of even more neurotic children.

Life is always complete, but unfortunately we raised them to believe that are missing out on something. They’ll never find that something because they are searching outside themselves. They lack the courage to look inside themselves, instead seeking “answers” from the outside and their entitlements.

We’re guilty of a shocking failure to teach them self-reliance. We’ve taken on our children’s lives as our own, which is why parents shoot teachers.

I don’t see any resistance to this path going forward, but eventually it will right itself.
